Unfortunately, I'm under my parents' coverage and still live at home, so I don't have any other options but to continue seeing him.

He calls on people directly and loudly in sessions, and I don't really have much choice. I've tried sitting quietly and not saying anything. Now he thinks I'm "pouty".

That sucks, OP. Though I personally would be fine with someone calling me pouty over being bullied into engaging, I can understand why some people wouldn't.

I agree with the commenter above me though, I really hope there is some sort of number you can call to report him, because honestly someone like that should not be in the mental health profession.

Good luck!

I considered getting more combative - at one point I sat in his office waiting for him playing anti-Republican protest songs out loud on my phone - but I'm not sure that helps aside from telling him that I'm not taking it lying down. He actually likes it and thinks I'm a fighter.

I don't know if there is a number. Can I use it anonymously?

If he likes a fighter then stop fighting. He'll lose interest and you'll be discharged. Just keep your mouth shut on politics and generally give fake positive sounding contributions. Is this one-on-one therapy or a group deal?

Both.
