It's OK.

Yeah - the first time I felt off around him was when he didn't seem to understand that I'm not interested in dates or any kind of romantic social interaction (he blamed the Seven Sisters college I went to) or respect the concept of asexuality.

I've also explained to him that I spent some years at Sunday school, wasn't very happy there, and don't really want to come back for personal reasons. He didn't seem to get that, either - I'm willing to visit one of the more laid-back churches to meet people (i.e, Unitarians), but he meant a more conservative church. Social beliefs aside, church isn't really the best place for me to meet people my age, anyway.
