Hide from Sun and Moon spoilers until Tuesday, write fics, and try not to die from this fuckin' sore throat.

I've never played a Pokemon game (other than Go). I did not realize they had storylines. I just assumed it was just walking around and fighting stronger trainers (so same thing but different names for each game). :O

I hope you get over your sore throat soon. Taking anything for it?

There's usually some extent of a story in Pokemon games. It's mostly tied to whatever evil organization is in that game, which usually gets the legendary on the box tied into it somehow. The whole gym progression and the Elite 4 are always the same though... except Sun/Moon dumped gyms(!!) and replaced them with trials.

"Spoilers" can also refer to what Pokemon are in the game, what their stats/movesets are, what they evolve into, and where you can find them. Also, any new game mechanics. Since the plot is usually pretty cookie-cutter, some people are more concerned about being spoiled on Pokemon than the story. It can ruin any sense of discovery and wonder if you know what's going to pop up where.

Poor Europe doesn't get Sun/Moon until next week. The games leaked a few weeks ago but now that it's out legally everywhere but Europe, it'll be way harder to avoid spoilers.

This. I'm in an area where I can get it but I just don't have the means to get it yet. And I'm trying so hard to not be spoiled for "where do I get this Pokemon." I want to have that sense of wonder and sense of frustration and sense of "holy crap that's HERE?" all at once.

Also I don't wanna be spoiled on team Skull's overarching plans but I hope they go back to basics like Team Rocket.
