Why do people at work who don't get their work done/blatantly slag off don't get reprimanded or fired? It's hard to function when problems crop up that are directly in result because someone went, "Meh I don't have time/can't do this right now, so I'll just throw this out and no one will notice that I didn't do it."

YOU ARE IMPACTING PATIENT CARE AND I HATE YOU STOP IT.

Personally, I don't say anything unless it's affecting MY work, but...

If it impacts patient care, do you have a department that deals with complaints and grievances? Maybe you can file an anonymous complaint of some kind.

Every time it happens I fill out an incident report (I don't care if my name is attached, I'm high up enough in seniority that reporting someone else's negligence won't hurt me) but I guess I'm just reaching my limit of patience. :/

Hey as someone whose mom was supposed to get out of a nursing home last week after some physical therapy, but had to be sent back to the hospital because they fucked up her meds (and now she's back in the nusing home and they keep fucking up her discharge orders, seriously how hard is it to send the physician's assessment on to the assisted living facility?) thanks for giving a fuck.

You're welcome, and ugh that sucks. :/ I really don't understand how people get into fucking healthcare with an attitude of 'oh it's fine if I don't do this one thing'.

No it's not fine. Shit rolls down hill, man. You don't do one thing, and worse than not doing it, you don't even pass it on or communicate that it wasn't done until the shit hits the fan and we're left picking up the pieces. :|
