(Anonymous) 2016-11-22 01:14 am (UTC)(link)You can definitely try to work on how you react but DO NOT expect your parents to treat you differently, at least not right away. It'll just cause you more frustration if they aren't reacting the way you want to react, and that may bring you right back to getting emotional again.
Sometimes it may even best just to not argue, if you can read them before an argument even starts and you think that they won't respond favorably, it's best to let it go.
Overall it may take time and work, depending on your relationship with them you may even consider bringing this up as a concern of yours, but I only recommend that if you think they'll be open to listening.
