I've got my membership, so I'll at least be there for some of it. But my health issue has been acting up, and my finances are tight enough so that I can't afford a hotel room, (but I live literally ten minutes away, so that's not as prohibitive as it would be if I were out-of-town) and I've got to make at least one run down to my friends' house in Anaheim to feed their cats, so I don't know how much of it.

I'm sorry about your health :( but at least you do live close and can visit! Out of curiosity, if you live close by anyway, why even get a hotel room? Can't you just hang out until you're tired of it and go home, or is it such a part of the experience?
I hardly go to cons because of the expense myself (at least in America).

If I get a hotel room, I can drink at room parties if I want. (Not that I always do, but it's good to have the option.) Also, I can take a nap or decompress if the socialization gets overwhelming. (I'm an introvert.)
