Oh, yes, I know. Just because I support Obama, I and all of my fellow supporters surely have no clue what we're talking about! We're just a bunch of morons who don't know who or what we're voting for, right?

I hate people who think like this. I'm sorry if I come off as rude and abrasive here, but I'm a freaking Political Science major, and the implication that I don't know what I'm talking about because of the presidential candidate that I choose to support just pisses me off. Especially when I go out of my way to be supportive of people who disagree with me and support other candidates. A little of that going the other way would be nice.

So yeah, up yours. :D

To be fair, I don't think the op is talking about supporters like you. You're obviously educated, politically savvy, and up-to-date...but honestly, as a 17-year-old with a lot of friends just turning voting age, I know a lot more who're jumping on his bandwagon because it's cool.

If the OP wasn't talking about supporters like me, then they shouldn't have generalized by saying "Obama supporters..." they should have clarified, "Some Obama supporters..." or "Obama supporters I know...". Otherwise, they're just asking to offend those among us who aren't complete idiots. Anyone who's been on the internet more than ten minutes knows that you have to be careful what you say and how you say it here (I would hope people IRL know this, too, but...), and generalizations are going to offend everyone in a group, not just the specific ones in your head when you wrote it up.

Frankly, I don't know anyone who's just "jumping on [Obama's] bandwagon," so maybe I just live in an area that's exceptionally politically active and informed? (Not something Vermont is typically accused of being! ;P) Nearly everyone I know is voting for Obama or has done so, and yet all of them are very informed politically and know what they're doing!

Actually, the only person I know who has their head in the sand politically is a close relative who happens to be a very active Clinton supporter. Funny how that works out.

I don't mean to offend or attack you with this comment, so you know. You've been very polite. My vitriol is directed entirely at the OP, and none at all towards you. :D Thanks.

It's the fangirling that kinda scares me.

Really, I'm not sure if it's just the forums I hang out in, or the people I know, or what, but the ones doing the fangirling/fanboying 'round my parts are the Clinton supporters.

Seriously, mein own father is a hardcore Clinton fanboy. It's embarrassing.
