er

What's wrong with DVD? The show is ancient as hell, it's not going to magically look better on Blu-Ray.

This. I was trying to puzzle out why it's so important to get a Blu-Ray of a show that ran from the late 80s to late 90s. The video quality is going to look dated by modern standards no matter what, OP.

It's also a steal for the price they usually charge. I got it on amazon for like $25 earlier this year. The packaging is crap but that is insanely cheap for entire series of an older show.

Blu-ray would just be a waste of money even if they did make it in it.

There is a world of difference between standard DVD and bluray. Have you not seem some of the remastering of some shows they have released on bluray?

Nobody is going to remaster Roseanne, though

I bet it happens one day. One day, all things will be remastered.

And mankind will subsist entirely upon jellies.

Who in the name of fuck is going to remaster Roseanne? It's a classic show, sure, but not THAT classic.

(Anonymous) 2016-11-24 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure Roseanne was shot on tape. If that's the case, a Blu-ray would have to be upconverted and probably wouldn't look that great.

Realistically, there's only so much you can do for a show that old. I doubt Blu-Ray would be worth it, even "remastered".
