No kidding. Here's a crazy thought: basically every media ever exists to be sold. Cool explosions? ACTION FAN PANDERING. Nice soundtrack? MUSIC FAN PANDERING. I mean at some point, you just have to accept that something was included intentionally in a way that doesn't detract from the story, and yes, if it helps sell it, all the better.
