(Anonymous) 2016-11-24 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)The full retail price of many of the audio books (especially really popular/new books) are way more than $14.95 but still only cost me one credit to buy as a member. Take the Harry Potter books - most of them would cost me $44.99 to buy outright. But as a member they only cost me one credit (aka my monthly $14.95 fee). So you can save a lot of money if you listen to a lot of audio books.
What can be really confusing is that for new members they sometimes run promotions where the first month(s) cost less than $14.95. I think I paid $7.95 my first three months and still received one credit per month.
As a member you can also buy additional credits if you want to buy more books. Right now they are offering me an additional 3 credits for $35.88 ($11.96 per credit). Again think of that Harry Potter book being $44 each if I wanted to buy it outright- big savings.
Hope this clarifies things for you.
