Moon is the first Pokemon game I've played longer than a few hours and I see that Wonder Trade is complete shit. I traded a level 42 tree thing that needs to be traded in order to evolve, I don't do social shit so it was useless. What do I get in return, some fucking level 3 bird thing.

Don't send Pokemon that are valuable to you through Wonder Trade! Most of the time, you'll get cheap low-leveled crap, but some people love sending fun, rare, or ridiculously powerful Pokemon through, too. The trick is to keep Wonder Trading until you get something you like.

*nods* I like to send out rare Pokemon with Pokerus and Rare Candies just for fun. I don't really care what I get back. Way I see it, it's a good way to build up good karma. Totally makes up for all the times I didn't put the shopping cart back in the corral.

Yeah, I've been having fun trading back and forth low level pokemon but i do let uncommon and higher level ones i have no plans using go sometimes. Still haven't gotten anything good except ones that i've failed to catch.

Like the others said, don't trade something rare through wonder trade unless you are feeling generous and don't need the pokemon. You CAN get good trades through wonder trade, but it takes a hell of a lot of trades to find something good.

I have more luck trading through the GTS, granted that means you need a pokemon that people are specifically looking for- but if you invest in breeding starters or version exclusives then you can usually find what you want. I reset the game to get a female starter, started breeding, and was able to get all the other starters.

Outside of that if you need a super specific trade having a friend us your best bet. If you don't know anyone there are lots of game boards where people exchange friend codes to set up trades.

Wonder Trade isn't for trading if you want the thing BACK. If you wanted to evolve something like that, I bet if you asked around here, someone would help you evolve it!

Wonder Trade is like a roulette and that's what makes it fun. You don't know if you're going to get a low level Zigzagoon that no one else wants, or a level 100 shiny Porygon2 that's fully EV trained with an awesome moveset (that's probably cloned, but who cares? It's a nice surprise!)
