For RPGs, I'd say go with PS4 if you're going to go for it. That said, if you already have Steam, it might not be entirely worth it to spend the $250 for the console, however much extra for a TV, and then however much more to give it a library of games.

There are some PS2 classics that are being put up slowly, but it's a small selection so far. Honestly, it might make more sense for you to get a PS3-- it's cheaper, and you'd have access to a much broader selection of classic (PS1 era) games that the PS4 doesn't.

Alternatively, stick to PC and just download emulators/ROMs.

Oh, I didn't even know they didn't have that many older games on PS4. I thought since PS3 had a bunch now, PS4 would have the same titles. That's good to know.

The only game I can think that I'd want to play right away would be Final Fantasy XV, and I don't think that'll be available for PC. But thanks for the advice, I am now thinking it's better to save the money.

Ah, yeah, I'm not sure how soon (if ever) FFXV would be coming to PC. :( That's a shame.

It probably will be available on PC down the line (though nothing is confirmed), but it would apparently take them at least a year just to make, as they don't want to simply port the console version. So I don't think it would happen for a couple years at least.
