Re: Gaming
(Anonymous) 2016-11-26 12:17 am (UTC)(link)I personally like console gaming because I try to designate my computer as a workstation and having a separate place for gaming really helps me to not be distracted/enticed into gaming when I shouldn't be.
Haha I literally have a work laptop for this exact reason. I do some remote work for one company, and they provided the laptop, but I am very strict about using it only for work. They wouldn't mind if I browsed Facebook a little and such on it, but for me, I need that separation.
The thing is, even my personal computer has sort of become very hard to focus with. I'm in the bad habit of having like ten tabs open on two different browsers simultaneously and I'm not good at focusing. So I think having a console would be a more relaxing gaming experience.. Also, my personal laptop is getting a little slow, and it'd be nice to have something a little speedier.
On the other hand, I understand you can't really mod console games? I can't imagine playing something like Skyrim without mods.. And yeah, I'm mostly not interested in brand new titles except for a game or two, so maybe it's not worth it after all.

Some you can now, though it's definitely a curated list of mods. Fallout 4 and Skyrim are among them, though I think they're more on Xbox One than PS4; I remember something about it going wrong on PS4 and them pulling it. Not sure if that's been fixed yet.
