I do like Brisbane winters. Maybe the more southern winters are harsher, though I have spent time in Sydney during winter and all it takes is actually wearing a warm coat that I would only wear at night in Brissy. I once took a ferry across Sydney Harbour while I was there in winter, and sat outside. Chilly, very chilly.

My QLD friends used to think I was weird because I'd go swimming in their unheated pool in the middle of winter. It's only winter in the shade up there.

It doesn't get below zero on the coast here, but if you drive half an hour inland you have ground frost in the mornings. It feels more like England. Cold and damp.
We usually just have milder weather with freezing cold wind coming off the ocean. If you're not used to it, it probably sucks. It also leaves your hair with that nice styled by satan look.
