Re: What's y'all's favorite version of the Arthurian legends? Favorite character? Favorite story?

I know MZB is a sore point, but I do like Mists of Avalon.

There was another book that I think I found in a charity shop once, that was the legends from Morgana's view that had her basically living a kind-of wild-child life when she was young, and then after Mordred went missing she sore off all sex which was what made her good at magic. She couldn't help at a climactic point later because she had sex again and lost all her power. It also had the "real" Holy Grail being a simple serving dish that had been through various hands that used it well.

The '98 miniseries was not bad, but like a lot of versions, had an interesting interpretation.

In my teens I got hold of a book of the Arthurian legends which, mind you, I found in the children's section of the bookstore. That was a good little book that simplified the gist of the story quite well.
