I basically agree, I just think if OP makes a secret about it, this may not be something their significant other should veto? It's bothering them enough to post on fandom secrets, so if I knew this person I'd suggest to them they give the soundtrack a listen.

Like yeah, in the end, maybe they'll hate it. But like I said this is not something I think will take up that much of a person's time if they just want to listen to the soundtrack. They don't need to sit down in a crowded movie theater or put all their attention into reading a book, soundtracks are really easy things to listen to while you're cleaning the house or depending on the work you do, you can turn it on there, or during your commute, there's seriously so many times in a day you could try.

That assumes that people only make secrets about stuff that's really, really bothering them or that's a huge deal. I don't think this is necessarily the case.

And to be honest, even if it was, I still don't agree. Something can be a HUGE deal to you, but it doesn't have to be an equally huge deal to anyone else. I realize this is an unusual idea in fandom, but fandom isn't the end-all of one's existence. You can absolutely survive being in relationships with people who are indifferent to even your favorite fandoms. It's not hard unless you want to make fandom your hill to die on... and that'd be an extremely silly thing to do. OP is right not to push it. Maybe the bf will come around, maybe he won't. But insisting that he needs to give it a chance because OP looooooves it so is more likely to turn him off Hamilton than otherwise.
