Shiro is officially 25. Pidge is officially 14. Lance's VA said something about Lance being 16. The podcast said something about Lance being the same age as his VA which is 19. Hence the confusion since neither of them are the actual writers of the show. General consensus seems to be that Hunk, Lance and Keith are somewhere around 16-18. I'm not a fan of the Shiro/Keith pairing because of the power imbalance and frankly they strike me more as older brother/mentor and younger brother/student which adds to the squick for me but I'm also a 'ship what you want to ship' person so I don't care or get involved in the debate. tumblr being tumblr went off on a jag about underage dating adult and throwing around the word pedophile to make it sound more alarming. Sitting quietly in the middle I've frankly seen a lot of gross things thrown from both supporters and attackers of the ship and, tumblr being tumblr, I've also watched people send themselves 'anon' hate mail, etc. just for the drama and support points. At the end of the day, ship what you want to ship and just avoid tumblr unless you're hunting for pretty pictures. They make the old Final Fantasy 7 shipping wars look tame.

25 at most was what they said, IIRC. So he could still be younger.

They said that was the "safe zone" or something like that, so he doesn't have to be exactly 25 (plus the producers referred to him as only "slightly older than the rest" in interviews before). Same with Pidge, she's around 14-15 because answers vary depending on who you ask, while Keith, Lance and Hunk are in their "late teens". Nobody has an official exact age and it has never come up in the show so far. Shiro's VA said they were never given any official info about how old the characters are and it hasn't appeared in the scripts either. Basically, we were given estimates, not anything official, so everyone can headcanon whatever they want.

How do you even know when people are sending themselves anon hate for drama? It didn't even take a day after SDCC happened for people to start sending me anon asks telling me Sheith is pedophilia and I should stop posting it, so I finally had to turn off anonymous messages. I assure you, that stuff does happen.

And I'm not sure where you got the info that Lance's VA said he's 16. That's the first time I'm hearing this. AFAIK, the writers/producers said "late teens" while the podcast said 19 (like his VA) but the podcast is not an official source.
