+1 I was going to say this, so much of "geek" culture has become popular in recent years, and this includes a lot of what the others are saying upthread (the internet, video games, comic books, etc.)

It's weird because when I was young there were so many things that had to be my secret nerd shame, and now fucking everyone talks about them.
