Or punched in the face and just having a nosebleed. Being punched in the face is a good way to lose teeth, even from light punches.

Really though, there is a reason that in a lot of jurisdictions any blow to the head usually ups the level of an assault charge to the next level. If someone dies from a blow to the head then in a lot it is a top line attempted murder charge (usually allowed to plea down though, but...). Never hit someone in the head, even a punch to the kisser or slap across the chops, unless you are happy with them dying as a result. It is super easy for a head blow to become a fatal blow.
