On the one hand, I understand why you wish more people would stand up to the bullies.

On the other hand, I don't have the energy to deal with people sending me hate messages because I ship an eighteen-year-old with a seventeen-year-old.

Especially if you live in a country where the age of consent starts at 14 for closely aged couples, and 16 for everyone.

Actually, in the US, 16 is the age of consent in the majority of the country (31 states), and most states have "Romeo and Juliet" laws for closely aged couples. +/- 3 years is typical.
