I always wonder why it's acceptable to repost fanart and if you'd do it with fanfic you're the lowest scum on earth? I mean both forms draw from a pre-existing canon and both artists and writers invest so much time and sweat and blood to create stuff so why is only one medium allowed to be offended if others try to gain attention and fandom points with their work?
Fandom is full of double standards.

Well, for one its a lot easier to credit the original creator when its fanart. If you repost someone's fanfic (barring tumblr), most will assume that you made it, and that's a shitty thing to do to an author.
