I mean, this is a pretty serious crime. Pills can be seriously bad and easy to overdose on, and they are being sold by someone who (seems to, based on what OP said) has a position of power or authority over them. If OP isn't comfortable with reporting him then thats fine, but I don't see anything wrong with suggesting it for something like this.

They'll get a longer sentence if one of the kids ends up dying. Seriously, I've known a lot of people who OD'd off pills. They aren't a harmless drug like weed.

In any case, this is a case where selling drugs is genuinely an abusive and dangerous behavior outside of natural supply and demand. He's selling to people he has explicit power over.

If standing by your family means putting dozens of children at risk, sure. Not to mention that in this case, "protecting" your family means enabling your drug dealer nephew and if this is in the US, risking the cops seizing her sister's property if they believe it's from his illegal drug income.

ah yes, the old "never turn your back on your family" bullshit.

I never reported my cousin for sexually assaulting me because of this. my family knew about it but convinced me that he was sincerely apologetic and that I wouldn't be able to live with myself if the poor guy got sent to prison and had that on his record for the rest of his life. obviously that's not the same as being a drug dealer, but when your family member is selling drugs to children (especially ones whom he works with and is presumably supposed to be a role model and positive example for) then your ass can at the very least make an anonymous tip. kids ODing isn't exactly something you want on your conscience

This right here is why I never put much stock in "loyalty" as a virtue. If someone's acting like a decent person, other virtues mean you'd support them anyway. If someone's acting like a piece of shit, your "loyalty" is only worth as much as their decency.
