To be honest, I'm still finding it weird as hell. Because everything they're *showing* is 100% romance, but what they're saying... isn't nearly as much. It's so fucking weird for me. And then you had Yuri's reaction, and like...
It's not really possible to see them as not-gay, I think, but I have no idea what the show is even doing.

Yes, more or less. It's kind of a weird disconnect. But then again, I think the situation wouldn't be nearly as ????? If one of them was a female character. So while I'm not 100% sold on the whole romance (I'm just too cynical for it) I really WANT to believe.

I don't even know anymore. Like I said, on one hand they're telegraphing it really hard and you could say Yuri's just being awkward about it or something? I mean Phichit definitely said what everybody was thinking. It's just... they're not backing it up with any real private moments that reinforce it. I have no idea what is going on.

I think one of the problems I have with it (and the reason I was among the "no way the preview last week is supposed to be about rings!" group) is that they don't actually know each other that long? And as you said, next to the skating and all the focus on the other side characters, the few personal moments between those two are kind of few and far between.
