Re: Where did "anti-PC" backlash come from?

are you on box office theory by any chance

They don't think they're in the wrong, and now a bunch of non white, non male, non straight people are demanding respect? Well, they just won't have that.

Basically 'why is the world changing and i'm being left behind whaa whaa anti PC'

No, I haven't. What is Box Office Theory?

The poster cited someone named McInnes, who I hadn't heard of but sounded like a questionable character (to say the least). Apparently he "predicted" the Ghostbusters movie would bomb at the box office (and I'm not sure if it did? Did it?).

Gavin McInnes was one of the founders of Vice, then was what you would have to consider a precursor of the general alt-right sensibility, and is in general an all-around dickhead

The Ghostbusters movie wasn't a box office success overall but it did pretty well domestically. Just didn't play overseas, I think.

Yuck.

I knew this particular forum mod was a crank politics-wise, and I don't bother arguing with him because 1) I wouldn't get anywhere if he's so deeply steeped in this stuff and 2) forum mod, but that guy sounds like an asshole and I have no idea why he would be cited as anything resembling a reliable source.

So I take it he's probably trying to brew up a self-fulfilling "prophecy" with Rogue One, then. What a jerk.

Hey, someone else knows about BOT. It's basically a hardcore movie forum, they're mostly cool though.

& It depends on who you ask to be honest about Ghostbusters. I err on the side of it wasn't a huge profit, probably minimal after you get through with overseas countries taking their portion of the profits, but it was one nonetheless.

never heard of that dude though

I was confused because I received intensely conflicting information about it.

It generally falls on a politics divide - the bloggers I know who are anti-SJW said it was a flop and the SJ-supportive bloggers I know played it up as a success.
