Re: Where did "anti-PC" backlash come from?

What really confuses me is liberals who defect to the alt-right, claim its threat is exaggerated, or at least treat them as less bad than "SJWs" in their nastiness.

Not in least because the already vile alt-right is in the position to do a lot of political, social, and environmental harm with little to stop them.

It's really sad that this confuses you. Honestly, I have lost all hope for liberalism.

I'm confused because the alt-right and the forces they've helped unleash are a threat - Trump alone is going to try and gut labor laws, set environmental protection back by years, and cause havoc in foreign relations. His cabinet members are hawks (Flynn, Matheis), incompetent (Carson), are foxes guarding the henhouse (EPA and Secretary of Labor), or are vile plain and simple (Bannon).

And somehow SJWs are worse than all of the above. While there are many SJWs who have done bad things, they're on a vastly smaller scale than anything the alt-right and their allies are in place to do. Is spiting SJWs really worth irreversible climate change and all the ecological and social problems coming along with it, for one thing? Or getting sick because the FDA's ability to function has been slashed?

In my experience they were never really liberals in the first place

Or at least not really on the left, if that makes sense.

A good example is a lot of the Bernie fans who didn't appear to actually agree with Bernie on anything besides student loans. You know the ones--they got really into attacking black people after that BLM incident, talked down to women, etc. Not the majority out in the real world, but they certainly made themselves the majority in a lot of online spaces.

Some people really hate anything that demands they treat people better for even a second.
