Stardust! I thought the book was meh, but the movie is hilarious.

Same! I didn't like the book at all, but the movies was simply gorgeous. I loved Claire Danes in that so much, and Charlie Cox was such a sweetheart. Oh, and Michelle Pfeiffer made a surprisingly awesome baddie!

I liked the movie a lot. Still miss the long rolling conversations of the book, though.

I tend not to like Neil Gaiman's novels as much as his comics/short stories, and Stardust is no exception, but I really do love the movie! Especially the ending. I know the ending of the novel is More Realistic and Serious, but honestly it's a fairytale, and I felt the ending of the movie better reflected that.

(...I know that fairy tales can have bad endings, but generally not after Happily Ever After.)
