Two questions: Why are they naked, and do they play baseball like that?

It's referencing ESPN Magazine's annual Body Issue, which has similar nude portraits of male and female athletes from many, many sports. Which aside from titillation is kind of interesting because it highlights the diversity of athletic body types.

And tbh, Pitch did a pretty good job casting the right body types by position.

It's a reference to the "Body Issue" ESPN: The Magazine does. I think there was an episode where the pitcher poses for the Body Issue and the rest of the team do as well to support her?

(I have never seen this show, I just saw it mentioned in an article a few days ago.)
