...I've burned a pan full of water but...HOW THE HELL DID YOU BURN ICE CUBES?! STORY PLEASE.

STORY TIME

one day I had a horrible migraine and after driving/dragging myself home from school I curled up in bed under many covers and then, I guess, decided I had to have water, but hot water? (I think maybe I wanted to fill up my hot water bottle.....or something?) I still don't know why I didn't get it out of the tap (this was when I was living in a *very* old, very jenky apartment building, but I had running water). Anyway, in my melting brain getting some water boiling was IMPERATIVE, so I took some ice cubes out of the freezer, dumped them in a saucepan, put it on the hot plate, and slunk back into bed.

When I finally recovered/woke up/emerged from the darkness, I had a smoking pan and no water at all. So that was the time I burned ice cubes for no discernible reason
