Well obviously I am an actual huge baseball fan, I agree, OP. A baseball movie or especially a baseball anime would be telling a story about the characters through their games. In Pitch, the on-the-field things come off as somewhat separated from the rest of the story.

I'm actually most invested in the action when they're playing, tbh. Ginny's relief outing in San Francisco might be my favorite scene because it's letting baseball action carry the personal story.
