You can still feed and clothe a child if you deferred your minor for a year. THAT is the responsible thing to do.

IN YOUR OPINION. Jayzus.

...deferring solves both issues. Show me a university that doesn't have deferring/student parent plans. It's not opinion; it's the logical choice given all the information we've received. Spend time with kid, AND finish degree! Don't be mad at logic.

You said: "THAT is the responsible thing to do."

In your opinion. In *her* opinion, it's obviously more responsible to finish her degree. Don't be mad that other people's opinions are different than your own.

(And you've no idea what options she has at her school of choice, what she's explored, what would and wouldn't work for her, so again - the most responsible thing for HER is the choice she's made. Just because you favor another course of action doesn't make it *better*.)

ITS A COUPLE OF MONTHS.

Except 'defer for a year' is sometimes a temporary solution that turns into a permanent problem.

"I'll go back when they go to daycare."

"I'll go back when they start kindergarten."

"I'll go back when they're in high school."

"I'll go back when they graduate."

My niece's mother only JUST finished her HS degree because she had to stop going to school when she had her daughter and she got caught in a loop of trying to take care of her child and putting off education, which lowered her job prospects and created this cycle of no time and no money.
