Must Watch: Muppet's Christmas Carol and/or Mickey's Christmas Carol, both childhood favourites. The scene in Mickey's where the Ghost of Christmas Present plucks up a street lamp (with a lovely sound effect) and turns it into a flashlight was one of the things that really stuck in my head as a kid and got me interested in Victorian London. Also, if it's on/can be got, the 1982 short of The Snowman, the one with "Walking in the Air". I love that thing so much.

Must Avoid: Most Christmas comedies? I dunno, really.
