Other than Kat being gone, I didn't notice a huge change.

Why, did they change writers or something?

I haven't noticed a change, either. I quite like the show, though I miss Calista.

There's more focus on romantic relationships instead of platonic ones (between female friends, which I miss), and they've decided to follow the 'my life has no meaning unless I'm a SUPERHERO', which honestly Kat was so fucking good for, because she showed yes, you can choose your own career and be happy in it WITHOUT being a cop, firefighter, superhero, doctor, etc.

I'm going to second other anon and ask what has changed? I don't feel like it's that different.

(Anonymous) 2016-12-14 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
What has changed? I see none of it.

If anything, I really didn't like that crossover episode (mainly because Kara didn't do much and I blame the sexism that's running rampant in DCTV). I wanted to punch Ollie for telling Kara to stay behind. Talk about one sexist misogynist dinosaur!

I always want to punch Ollie so I stopped watching, now I have to watch the Arrow crossover episode and ugh.

OP

The tone feels different to me. It feels more like a CW superhero show now whereas the original really didn't.

SAME!

I've noticed a huge difference and yes, it's just a regular CW show now... it has so much going for it before.

I definitely see the change but if OP hasn't watched since ep 2 I recommend giving it a shot. Alex's relationship with Maggie Sawyer is fantastic and they've introduced some other cool secondary characters. It's not the Cat and Kara show I loved but it is exploring some exciting dynamics.
