I would buy that if they ever showed technology that was used purely for good. Add it is, all they show are the bad aspects.

As not add.

San Junipero

'Be Right Back' was more bittersweet, but while the tech was a mixed bag in the end for the main character, the initial encounters seemed to help her depression and her friend wholeheartedly recommended and used it. It could also be argued that it was mostly running up against the limitations of technology that caused her breakdown near the end.

Or the bees in "Hated By the Nation'. That tech was good up until it was hijacked.

Nope. You didn't see "San Junipero"? Also technically "Shut up and Dance" involves the capture of a pedophile via technology.

I would say it's the difference between Transhumanism and Cyberpunk. I quote:

"Transhumanism is about how technology will eventually help us overcome the problems that have, up until now, been endemic to human nature. Cyberpunk is about how technology won't."
— Stephen Lea Sheppard Via TV Tropes

In both of those types of stories the tech is the same but the writers assessment of people differs.

Black mirror isn't saying "Tech is evil, Media is evil" it's saying that we will find new ways to bring out the darkness in whatever tool we use. the "Black Mirror" of the title isn't being held up against the tech or the media, it's being held up against us.

I mean, OP's point stands?

That makes no sense at all. It's a TV show, not a court case where both sides get to make their case so it's a fair trial. Were the Nazis not that bad because most historical documentaries only show their negative side and not the positive?
