Do you like to make icons? Do you follow any good icon makers or communities? What process do you go through when editing them? What are your favorite types?

I make them occasionally and used to run a journal, but got lazy and preoccupied with other hobbies, and just only recently started getting back into making them again. Usually I end up making batches of whatever character I'm roleplaying at the time, and then just sharing them out especially if they're a rare one.

I also LOVE coloring manga images for icons, but that's a lot more time consuming than simply cropping them. I'm learning more tricks with filters and layers the more I do it, though.

I make them but I am terrible at it. :C I mostly just crop pics I like. GIF ones are too hard to make small enough to use.

I do, I find it fun. I tend to try a lot of different tutorials as well as just trying things.

There used to be a lot of places on LJ ages ago but I can't recall any recent places off the top of my head for icon specific stuff. Tumblr has good photosop in general stuff, just try the photoshop tutorial tag and that usually leads to blogs with a lot of interesting tutorials that can be applied to icon making.

This one isn't one of mine but thank you all the same. :) (I've done other Plusle and Minun ones but had this one though all my LJ/DW life since around 2004.)

I love making icons but I feel like mine are very minimalist against what the current trends are as I prefer to just touch up the lighting/colors/sharpness and leave it at that. I really want to start coloring manga/comic images though. I'm afraid my shading skills just aren't up to par yet, so I avoid sharing anything like that around.

I don't really follow any communities for icons, but I love looking up sites for photography editing just to pick up new skills. I use paintshop pro so the tutorials/community out there is limited.

I only make my own when I can't find a certain character I'm after, otherwise I stalk a couple of icon comms and sometimes check tumblr tags for specific icons I want.

I'm not 100% tbh, I thought it was a variant cover art but I can't find it so it could be fanart or inside art... I know I've seen it outside of my icon though.

I used to make them a lot. I can't say I was ever very good, though. On my LJ back in the day I had 50 or 100 icons iirc? A fandom friend bought whatever upgrade for my account to have them.

They're fun to make. I keep thinking I should make more for this journal at least, even if I have no where else to use them.

Most of my icons are from preexisting images - I like the ones I have, but I'd like to learn how to make my own someday.
