The line took forever and it was freezing but she tried to at least have a conversation with everyone.

I love book signings, they've been great, plus you get the book and usually a brief hello with the author.

I also haven't been to a con since college (I did Anime Weekend Atlanta and AnimeNext in NJ) and I don't always feel like I fit in that world.

They really are great.

My favorite book signing story was with Peter S. Beagle. He signed my copy of The Last Unicorn, and then we had a short conversation about a mythical creature he included in one of his books and the works of Jorge Luis Borges. It was a cool nerd moment.
