Thanks! I genuinely appreciate the way you seem to actually want to give helpful advice. You're good people.

That said, if I choose to tell my girlfriend about this thread I'm totally going to frame your comment in the worst possible way.

"So I said that I love and trust you and am not worried about you giving me an STD, and this person belladonna_took responded by saying that I can't trust you, and you're probably sleeping around on me."

I should mention that was supposed to be a joke. I know that's not in anyway what you were saying.

Aw. Thank you. I do have training in safe sex education - I was manager of the sexual health aisle at my pharmacy job. Actually not embarrassing once you get used to talking about it.

I think everyone should approach the subject rationally rather than emotionally. Make an appointment together if you'd both prefer. You can discuss your contraceptive options with a professional. If she does decide to use emergency contraception (levonorgestrel) it is most effective within 24 hours. It can be taken after that in the following days but it's best not to delay.

If you rethink your stance on condoms, I would recommend you give non-latex a try with the addition of an appropriate type of lubricant. Some people aren't aware of minor latex sensitivities, but definitely feel a sense of holy nope batman when rubbing latex on a very sensitive place. If the dryness is a common issue don't be afraid to try lubricants or bring it up at your appointment - there are lots of very treatable hormone and bacterial balance issues that can cause it. Lube isn't just for "butt stuff" as some people seem to think.

You can say whatever you like about me if it means you have a discussion about your health!
