The one "never use" item is ALWAYS elixirs or mega elixirs. I will buy 20 million ethers and potions before I use an elixir.

and I can go playthrough after playthrough and never even touch those damn things because the sense of "just in case" is always there. Even during the final boss, I will think "BUT THERE COULD BE A SUPER SECRET SURPRISE BATTLE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THIS ONE WITH ITS HIDDEN TAIL AND I DON'T RESTART FULLY HEALED sooo I won't use this justincase"

I think one thing games have done to gamers is make us paranoid we will be stuck in a never ending dungeon low on supplies with no way out before several boss fights.

I always hate games where making money is hard because I need to buy those 999 potions so I never have to use my elixir.
