Re: What are your holiday season woes?

[personal profile] sockes 2016-12-17 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
This is a first world problem situation, but my brother has sort of derailed my holiday plans. I'm leaving for a trip super early in the morning on January 1st, so my plan was to leave my parent's house on the 30th or 31st, drive home, and make sure my pets were all taken care of before I had to head out. But now it turns out that he and his family won't be arriving at my parents until the 31st, and they'd like us to have a chance to get together and open presents with their new baby (the first grandbaby in the family!) Usually when they drive up, they don't arrive until later on in the evening. So do I stay up there until they arrive, then add an extra two and a half hours to my drive down to NYC the next morning, or do I skip my nephew's first Christmas? I was expecting them to come up a few days after Christmas like they normally do, not a full week later.
