It's fine for me in incredibly small doses. He works well as a host when he's surrounded by a bunch of other extremely strong personalities - so the Big Fat Quiz stuff mostly works, when they're not doing annoyingly scripted things, because he's a minimal presence that a bunch of other funnier people can bounce off. And he's really good at providing that minimal presence, and it's not a trivial skill. His fake laugh feels really old-fashioned in a way that I enjoy in that context, and he can be fake-annoyed pretty decently.

Anything where he has more presence than that, though - not good.

I do watch Big Fat Quizzes, because I love a lot of the guests they have on and they do help to water down Jimmy Carr a bit. If it wasn't for the combo of David Mitchell and Richard Ayoade I probably wouldn't bother though.

I do wish they'd stop having people like Jonathan Ross or James Corden or whoever on, because I feel like they don't really add to the proceedings.
