I think with Xanth, for me, it was when I read the list of other books in the series and saw that the title of one was about finding out what sort of panties a woman wore. Yeah... Then I read the "Mode" series and found it was pro-self harm and pro-pedophilia. Noped on out of that author pretty quick.

Piers Anthony comes from a time in the sixties to seventies where people were so obsessed with being sex-positive that it was considered sex-negative to be against pedophilia. Brian Aldiss is the same, and he's still defending pedophilia today. (If you want to throw up, look up Aldiss's rewrite of The Tempest where Caliban is fucking an underage Miranda.)

I'll pass on that if that is okay. This disappoints me, I had liked some of Aldiss' stuff up until now. Especially his curated short story collections. Now I shall have to rethink their place on my shelf. Darn.
