Or someone good-looking, period.

Seriously, though, I don't think there was anything wrong with the character. My only gripe was when the writer's started to imply that she had a background sob story and that's what had made her so ZOMG selfish! Not everyone needs nor has a sob story. Some people are just selfish because they want to be. And that's okay, too.

Agreed. You said exactly what I wanted to say about her--what I loved was that someone fresh and polar to Sam and Dean, who have to have a reason for EVERYTHING they do, and there's Bela. Without a back story she was a loose canon you couldn't predict.

But she was so terribly written, and everyone she came in contact with was so OOC I almost couldn't watch.

The idea of her is kickass, but on screen, it was just awful.
