What are your least favorite? What are your most favorite? Which remake do you think is better than the original?

My least favorite is The Day The Earth Stood Still with Keanu Reeves. What a terrible movie.

My favorites (and imo the best) remakes are the Dredd one (which technically isn't a remake of the movie) and True Grit. True Grit was so awesome.

Yes, a thousand times yes to The Day the Earth Stood Still. i don't mind remakes if they are good, but that one just wasn't at all.

Marlon Brando's Island of Doctor Moreau. Was that version *really* needed?

In the Good Old Summertime is a musical remake of The Shop Around the Corner and I love it. Some people here may have seen the gif of Judy Garland singing "I Don't Care", and this is what that is from.

Godzilla (1998) was pretty bad.

I really enjoy High Society, a remake of Philadelphia Story, though part of that is because Katherine Hepburn sort of irritates me.

Better than the original, maybe The Fly - it was certainly creepier.

The remake of "Sabrina" (original starred Audrey Hepburn) was neither better or worse than the original, just different and very 90s.

The remake of the Wicker Man was godawful]. The original is my favorite horror film ever, but the Nic Cage version? That's a movie that's fuckin' allergic to the entire concept of subtlety.

As for remakes I thought were good... I really liked the recent Annie movie, more than the 1982 one. I know I'm in the minority on this, though.

I'll probably get shit on for this but I liked the Peter Jackson King Kong and the women Ghostbusters better than the originals.

Best remake is Maltese Falcon, no question.
