Re: Settle something for us, would you?
Garnet or Beatrix then, if you need other choices.

(Anonymous) 2016-12-24 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)Garnet is better than Tifa, but not super intrinsically interesting. Beatrix is queen though, yes.
Re: Settle something for us, would you?
Love the woman, but that was some bad rom-com shit right there.
But yeah, Tifa got fucked in the story department, but then so did everyone who wasn't Aeris or Sephiroth. And I think sephiroth got away with it so well because he was a mysterious hidden figure of a large part of the game.
Naw, Tifa was brave, Loving, Loyal, unfailingly supportive some of the best bit's in the game happen with her. Garnet's the Opposite of Tifa; She has a great deal of importance to the plot, but anytime she's not playing the feisty runaway against Steiner she feels a bit 2D.

(Anonymous) 2016-12-26 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)I love the idea of Beatrix and Steiner and she's one of my favorite FF-characters ever... but the love letter thing was so fucking stupid.
At least with Tifa I've seen some pretty good arguing that she shut up for so long about Nibleheim because she was questioning herself about the events.
In her eyes he wasn't at the incident until he suddenly appeared to save her, then she's carried in a half-conscious state through the mountains to Midgar and her mentor can't give any answers to wtf happen to her home town so there's a big question mark. Then when Cloud does appear again? Not only is he acting anything like she remembers, he's able to recall things that (as far as she knows) he should have no knowledge about AND he's doing it much more confidently that she can. Add the freakouts he has and I can't blame her as much for not speaking up until it's too later.
FF7! Where therapists don't exist!
