I know how you feel: I think my brother is heading the same way with his awful girlfriend. At least I hope so. They're very on-and-off, which can get ugly since they got a place together. But lately I've had the feeling it's been more 'off' than 'on'. He's been talking of what to do with the apartment if they split up, and they didn't even spend Xmas together. I want my brother to be happy and when things are good between them he is very happy. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like that's usually the case, and when things are bad, they're very bad. I don't think I'd be able to live with extremes like that.
