Do you think any of your ships will become canon next year?

Well I hear they are melting down the Illustrious, so it is possible some of the metal could be re-smelted for that purpose.

Hahah. I wish but the only one that has any chance is Brienne/Jaime. And they'll probably die immediately afterwards.

Jaime's character completely backtracked anyway and he lost all his character growth the minute he got back to King's Landing.

The only time he was semi decent was when he saw Brienne again. He needed to just drop everything and run away with her (why do I ship it when I know it's doomed.)

Well, considering three of my ships ended this year via one of the characters dying, and two of the shows aren't supernatural in nature...nope :p.

And the ones that I ship who are still alive, I'd be truly surprised if they did go there.

Nope. All I want is more interaction with my ships, but there's no way they'd become canon. (Well, except for Baze/Chirrut might have an outside shot in the upcoming book but I'm not holding my breath.)

Most of them won't, but god, are my fingers crossed for Yara/Dany.

Hmmmm. I'm still holding out for Thor/Sif happening eventually, but I don't think it will happen in 2017. Most of my other big MCU ships are slash, and that's never happening.

And my main fandom's canon is closed, so nothing is changing there.

Kylo/Hux isn't happening. Maybe Rey will be paired with either Finn or Poe in the next one? I'd be happy either way. Poe/Finn won't happen, though.

Stop saying Poe/Finn won't happen you are going to jinx it. Well maybe it won't happen happen but I hope they have the decency to leave things open-ended enough.

Rey isn't going to end up with Poe, dude's in his 30s and she doesn't have the emotional maturity or wellness to get into a relationship like Leia had (and it took three years and a half of offscreen development for Leia/Han to kiss).

I think there is a good chance Rey/Finn will become canon. Rey/Poe doesn't seem likely.

I ship Rey/Finn though so I hope we are right!

Most of my canon ships, at this point, have at least one half of the pair gone from the show and not likely to come back, the show's been cancelled, the show's been cancelled and one of them fucking died, one half was a one off guest star, not likely to come back or the show/writing's fucked up their friendship so bad, I'm not sure they'll even be friends anymore....

So, yeah, unless I start watching something new, with potential? Not likely. Although in some ways, I suppose it's better that way.

I highly doubt it. I mean, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised and one (or more) will, but I really don't think so.

With two of them, it's canon that half of the pairing has feelings for the other, but the other is either in a relationship (although there've been hints that it might not be going so well) or married (although it's to someone they don't love for political reasons). The first I guess has a small chance of happening (though I also ship the one with the feelings with a different character, so if either of them happen, I'll be thrilled) but with the second, there's also the issue of incompatible orientations, so...most likely not. The show's surprised me before so I wouldn't say it's totally impossible, but I really doubt it.

With another, the show kind of seems to be heading in that direction, but as far as I can tell, the entire fandom inexplicably hates the idea of them together. They're two attractive straight people with nothing problematic about them being together, and though I normally get why people dislike a ship (even if I disagree), I haven't come across a single other person that ships it and I'm seriously baffled as to why it's so unpopular. So I'm not sure whether that'll influence the writers or not.

Another, the show was canceled, but the writers implied in an interview that they would've gotten together eventually, so I guess there's that?

Another, the writers have explicitly said they will never get together. There's no real reason that they can't, but they're apparently not going to because for whatever reason the writers don't want them to.

Those are the het ones that I can think of, the rest are slash and I think there's pretty much no chance they'll become canon just because they're slash and a lot of writers seem afraid of having gay characters.

All of my favorite ships never became canon. So no.

God, I hope not.

Nah. If anything I just want some terrible canon ships to break up.

I'm hopeful about one of my OTPs. But I don't really feel like I need it to be canon, because the fandom is so amazing.

I think it'll depend on whether or not the show gets renewed. They were endgame in the source material, so. *shrugs*

Hiccup/Astrid! They are canon in HTTYD2, there's a new season of the interquel cartoon coming up (hopefully) in January... unless the network is milking RttE for more than all its worth and keep stalling things because they want to put even more seasons in-between, we should be good soon!
