Fandom Schadenfreude

Have you ever felt schadenfreude for things that have happened in fandom? Such as watching a fandom melt down over the death of a character or something similar?

My sister tried watching BvS recently (she liked Man of Steel). She could only get about 20 minutes in before giving up. I got to summarize the MARTHA!!! scene for her and then watch her reaction to the entire clip.

It was pretty damn funny.

Yeah, definitely. And these were fairweather fans, so I was glad to be rid of them. But then they started harassing the showrunners, the actors, shippers whose ships were competing against their ship in online popularity polls, wiki mods, people on IMDB, fans from a different show, showrunners for said show, etc.

It became not fun after a while.

I'm finding the Arrow fandom kind of hilarious with how they melted down over Black Canary's death and how they continue to meltdown with her return.

The Arrow tv show never did a good job writing her and the actress really didn't pull off Black Canary, so I can't be bothered by anything they do with her but that is all I see people talk about lately.

What's funny is before rumors of her death started circulating, very few people cared about her and I often saw a lot of criticism of Arrow's Canary, but now she was apparently the one thing holding the show together? Okay.
