Surprisingly annoying! But you wouldnt have to hold down the space, just copy/paste progressively larger amounts etc. Used to do that to make huge word documents with all one word / number etc in Student Writing Center to amuse myself. (Ah, the simpler days.) This, however, is just trolling...

I feel like a handful of non-white space comments were deleted? Like, there was a different first reply to the thread about Rita Ora, and there's a deleted post that Dethtoll responded to in the thread for number 7.

It was the same anon. Leaving their comments while they disrupted everyone else's seemed unfair.

(Don't worry - I'm not going to go delete comments because you're involved in one wanky argument thread or something, though. That's not the same as deliberately going out of your way to break the page for everyone else.)

It's not fun that blankspace spam anon disrupted everyone, but I disagree on that deleting their contributing posts is the best course of action.

Leaving contextless posts behind is also frustrating.

Point taken, I'll just freeze them the next time.

But if they're going to spam in everyone else's threads, they should expect all of theirs to start getting locked. People don't get to kick every other player then keep playing ball. :(

The problem I see with freezing their posts is that, if you leave them up, we're 100% going to waste a ton of time speculating and making conspiracy theories about why they're doing the white-space-spam. Which I think is going to be non-productive and is only going to lead to people accusing random posters of whitespacing

but, maybe that won't happen

How about a compromise? Freeze posts that people have replied to, delete ones that don't disrupt conversations? (Besides the blankspace ones, all those need to go.)

Nah, I'm with case on this one. If anon chooses to deliberately disrupt the conversation with pointless whitespace posts, then they've lost the privilege of contributing their on topic posts. If they want to keep their on topic posts undeleted, well, the solution is pretty obvious and entirely within their control.
