I'm just not sure I have the time to devote to it as much as I'd like.

I'll tell you a secret: most writers don't have as much time to devote to their writing as they'd like.

Use the time you have. So you can't write 5,000 words a day. Write what you can.

Think about this: If you write just 250 words a day, in a year, you'll have 91,250 words. That's a freaking NOVEL. And yeah, you'll have to edit it. But at least you have something TO edit.
