Yeah, _coal's not for everyone. This year has felt weirdly meh, I agree. It could be, on my end, that I was assigned a sock, but it just feels that a lot of the excitement and chatter from last year isn't there. I think this year has taken a toll on a lot of people and knocked the wind out of their sails. Less squee than I remember.

I know a lot of people who back away from _coal and FFA and enjoy the fest more for it. I hope it goes better next year and that your story this year was well received. :)
