Well, they're also not about the co-dependent, dysfunctional relationship between Holmes and Watson, or the obsessively fangirly sexiness of Irene Adler, or...

My point is, you're absolutely correct, but Sherlock barely has anything to do with the Sherlock Holmes stories beyond a few superficial details.
